COLAKOGLU A.S has first entered the textile sector in 1972 by mediating import and export of various products of the industry. Watching closely the evolving trends in global textiles market and anticipating the everyday narrowing profit margins of trading, COLAKOGLU A.S conducted a thorough research on yarn trends and visited many fairs all around the world during the years of 1994-1995 to establish the GIPEX® elasticized and combined yarn production line in 1996, in İstanbul İkitelli Organized Industry Zone. GIPEX® branded elasticized yarns covered by different fibers such as, lycra and spandex provides swiftness, practicality and comfort the new textiles trends leans on.

To increase the customer satisfaction and production quality COLAKOGLU A.S  acquired an ISO 9001 Quality Certificate in 2005. Currently, COLAKOGLU AS has its new and expanded production facility in Kütahya Organized Industry Zone supervising its operations from its İstanbul  offices.  

 In 2010, to fallow the mission “Target market is world” and   following the expanded occurring trade and even more potentials with Syria, COLAKOGLU A.S newly founded its Damascus office in Damascus/Adra Organized Industry Zone with the name of GIPEX/Syria Ltd.

Set off with only 3 machines and limited capacity in 1996, COLAKOGLU A.S today with its 150 tons of capacity, added machine park, R&D works and its information technologies has earned a significant position in both national and international markets
